Florida 85 Kentucky 72

Kentucky played a good 1st half against Florida, but let the game get away in the 2nd half. I would say Kentucky played a great 1st half, but they didn't rebound. When UK has 43 points at halftime, they have to be winning. Today they let Florida have way too many 2nd chance points. The defense wasn't great in the 1st half, but it was good enough to force Florida into a lot of misses. UK just couldn't rebound and it negated the great offensive flow that the Cats were in.

Florida got off to a good start in the 2nd half, and Kentucky went cold. There were then some very questionable calls that went against UK. The Kentucky players looked like they thought that Florida was able to get away with fouls, but they were called against UK on the other end. This is when it seemed like the Kentucky players pretty much gave up. Nobody played well in the 2nd half. Morris couldn't stay on the court, because of fouls, and Perry went cold. Kentucky couldn't stop Florida from getting easy shots, and the game was over with about 10 minutes left.

It was good to see Perry shoot so well, especially in the 1st half. If Morris could have played more, then UK might have had a shot. But it doesn't matter now. If Perry continues to play well, and Morris gets his usual numbers, then the Cats will have a good run in the SEC Tournament. I think Tubby just needs to act like the season is starting over, and the last 4 months don't matter. Kentucky is capable of playing with anybody, especially on a neutral court, but they are also capable of getting blown out by anybody. It will be interesting to see which team shows up in Atlanta on Thursday.
