Kentucky 82 Georgia 70

UK got a much needed win on Senior Night in Lexington over Georgia. Kentucky played with the same kind of attitude that they had in the 1st half vs. Vandy, but this time they kept it up throughout the whole game. The defense was pressuring the ball and getting in the passing lanes, and the offense moved the ball to create easy shots. Bobby Perry had 22 points on 8-12 shooting, including 4-7 3 pointers. When Perry plays like that, Kentucky is a totally different team. It opened up the middle for Morris who had 17 points in just 17 minutes. Tubby let the seniors play a lot tonight, and he mixed in the freshmen quite a bit also. Jasper and Porter combined for just 5 points, but they had a total of 9 assists. I think it's very important to get Porter more minutes, so Bradley can play more at shooting guard when Jasper isn't in the game. Bradley scored 18, had 6 rebounds, and 5 assists on what seemed to be a quiet night until I looked at the box score. Meeks also had another solid game with 11 points.

The main negative was once again turnovers. I thought that Kentucky did as good a job denying penetration tonight as they have all year, and it forced Georgia to shoot low percentage shots. But UK gave up the ball 17 times, much of them being just careless turnovers once again.

This gives Kentucky another 20 win season, and some momentum going down to Florida on Sunday. Hopefully the Cats will build on a good performance and go on a run at the most important time of the year.
