Kentucky 79 Miss. Valley St. 56

(22) Kentucky beat Miss. Valley St. easily tonight, and looked like a different team than they did against Miami (OH). UK came out pressing and running, and took an early 15-0 lead. There were once again times of sloppiness and defensive breakdowns, but that is going to happen early in the season.

Morris came out demanding the ball in the post and finished with 18 pts., 9 reb., and 2 blks. Bradley was on fire with 21 pts. (5-7 3 pts.), 5 ast., and just 2 turnovers. Stevenson had 4 blocks and 8 points, and Meeks had 13 pts.

The big dissapointments were Perry (who had 2 fouls with 17 minutes left), Thomas, and Woo. The 3 seniors combined for 5 pts., 6 reb., 5 ast., and shot 1-8 from the field. They have got to do more if they want to finish out their careers with a Final 4.

I'll have more comments later.

Here are some early Top 25 scores:

Northeastern 52
(4) Pittsburgh 78

Eastern Kentucky 45
(5) Ohio St. 74

Middle Tennessee St. 62
(10) Alabama 71

(19) Texas 77
