UK 57 Miami 46

It wasn't a very pretty game, but UK ended up winning by 11. After a really rough start, they held a 4 point lead at the half. UK came out looking great to start the 2nd half before they went cold again.

There were many defensive mistakes, like leaving 3 point shooters wide open. All of the Kentucky freshmen are great athletes, but I don't think they understand the defense yet. Perry Stevenson was great with 7 blocks and 6 rebounds, Joe Crawford had 18 points, and Randolph Morris had 12 points (5-7 FGs) and 10 rebounds in just 22 minutes. Bradley also had 12 points and 5 assists, but turned it over 6 times.

There was lots of inconsistent play on both sides of the ball, but I'm sure alot of that is due to it being so early. Even though the fans would like a blow out every game, this kind of close game will benefit the freshmen later on when they're in a pressure environment. I'm sure Tubby will use this game tape to teach, and hopefully the mistakes will be fixed. The next 2 games against Miss. Valley St. and DePaul will probably both be easier than tonight's game.
