Thursday's Results

Michigan St. was able to beat (19) Texas in one of the biggest games of the early season. It was a great game, but was also typical of early season basketball. Both teams are so inexperienced that there never was a good flow to the game. Michigan St. was able to slow it down and make Texas play in the halfcourt.

Maui Thoughts:

I know that Kentucky plays against Miss. Valley St. tomorrow night, but that game should be much easier than Wednesday's game. I'm more concerned about next week at the Maui Invitaional. UK opens against DePaul, who has looked awful so far in 2 losses to Bradley and Northwestern. If they win, they'll likely play (6) UCLA who opens with Chaminade.

On the other side of the bracket is (13) Memphis, (23) Georgia Tech, Oklahoma, and Purdue. No matter what the outcome is of the UCLA game, we will face a very good team in likely either Memphis or Georgia Tech. Memphis lost quite a bit of their team from last year, but they'll be quick and very athletic. Georgia Tech had a great recruiting class, and I think they'll be one of the best teams in the ACC. I'd love to go 3-0 and win the tournament, but 2-1 would be pretty impressive too.

I've linked the bracket on the right side of the page.
