Georgia 78 Kentucky 69 OT

Kentucky managed to blow a 17 point lead and lose to Georgia in overtime tonight. UK looked great in the 1st half on offense and defense. They passed well, ran the court, and forced Georgia into bad shots, but everything changed in the 2nd half. UK hit just 9-21 FGs in the 2nd half and overtime and allowed Georgia to go 19-34. There was no movement on offense, they completely stopped running up the court, and the defense was terrible.

I hate to single out individuals, but I really think there were 2 people that really hurt Kentucky tonight. The first person is Ramel Bradley. He had just 2 pts, 2 reb, 0 ast, 1 to, 0 blk, 0 stls, and shot 1-5 FG, and 0-3 3FG. He managed to do all of that in 37 MINUTES! That brings me to the other person who is at fault tonight. Tubby Smith claims that he rewards players on their play, but it is obvious that wasn't the case tonight. Not only did Bradley put up terrible numbers, he couldn't stop his man from getting to the goal on defense. When it became obvious that tonight wasn't Bradley's night, Tubby should have gone a different route. Instead, he played Bradley at point much of the 2nd half, and the offense came to a grinding halt.

Jasper had 3 pts, 3 reb, and 6 ast. Porter had 5 pts, 1 reb, 1 ast, 1 blk, 1 stl. They each managed to put up better numbers than Bradley in a combined 29 minutes. Jasper and Porter did combine for 4 turnovers, so maybe that is why Bradley played the point so much, but it still isn't a good strategy. Jasper and Porter make up for their turnovers by creating for other players. Bradley doesn't turn it over as much, because he dribbles the clock away and leaves either himself or his teammates with a bad shot. I love Bradley at the 2 guard, and he was playing great there, but for some reason Tubby keeps putting him at the point.

Crawford was the bright spot for UK tonight. He had a career high 29 pts, 6 reb, 4 ast, 2 to, and 1 stl. He had 17 of UK's 43 in the 1st half and 12 of their 26 in the 2nd and overtime. It is pretty pathetic that the rest of the team only combined for 40 pts. Perry had 0 in 18 minutes, Bradley 2 in 37, Thomas 2 in 27. Morris was in foul trouble and had just 11, and Meeks had 10.
