Monday's Scores

This is a big week for Kentucky basketball. UK is rated in both polls (18th in the ESPN/USA Today, and 20th in the AP), and they are coming off a big road win at Arkansas. The Cats are 2nd in the SEC and trail only Florida who just happens to be number 1 in both polls and visiting Lexington this Saturday. If that isn't enough, ESPN's Gameday will be at Rupp and the whole country will be watching.

Of course, South Carolina also visits on Wednesday night in a game that I will get to attend. I rarely get to make the long trip to Lexington, and this time it looks like I'll have to travel through the snow, but it's always worth it.

Top 25:

Texas 82 (16-7, 6-3) - Durant is great, but the rest of the team is just not that good. A first round exit in the tournament wouldn't surprise me at all.
(6) Texas A&M 100 (20-3, 8-1) - I doubted this team for a long time, but they've proven they belong as one of the best in the country.

Other Scores:

Syracuse 60 (16-8, 5-5) - Lost 4 of 5 and are in big trouble for an NCAA bid.
UConn 67 (15-8, 4-6) - I guess they might still have some chance at an NCAA bid, but they would really need a win @ Georgia Tech on Sunday.

Northern Iowa 46 (16-8, 7-6) - Lost 4 of 5 and 6 of 9. They now need to win the MVC tournament to reach the NCAA tournament.
Indiana St. 59 (12-11, 5-8) - This team once had an 11-4 record with wins over Butler, Purdue, Creighton, and Wichita St., but then they lost 7 in a row.

Kentucky's Opponents:

San Francisco 62 (9-15, 5-4)
Santa Clara 74 (17-7, 7-2)

Western Carolina 64 (9-14, 6-6)
Charleston 76 (16-8, 9-3)

Miss. Valley St. 52 (11-12, 8-3)
Alabama St. 44 (7-15, 5-6)
