Tuesday's Results

Even though Wichita St. may not be as good as it looked like they might be, the Missouri Valley is a very impressive conference. According to the Pomeroy Ratings, there are 8 teams sandwiched between 54 spots in the polls. These teams will beat up on each other, but last year's impressive showing in the NCAA tournament will help them get probably 4-6 teams in again this year. What is so weird is that Wichita St., the team with the most media attention this year, is 0-2 in the conference.

Top 25:

Liberty 58
(3) Florida 89 - Enters SEC play at 13-2; Get to play Alabama & Arkansas at home this year; Hardest stretch may be last 3: @ LSU, @ Tennessee, vs. Kentucky.

Temple 55
(5) Duke 73 - Impressed with just 1 loss going into ACC play.

Indiana 67 - 9-4 with the losses coming at a total of 20 points. They can compete with anybody, but they need a better win than vs. SIU at home.
(6) Ohio St. 74 - Start Big 10 1-0, but have to go to Illinois and Wisconsin for next 2 games; so far they're 0-2 on the road.

Winthrop 51
(11) Texas A&M 71 - Some picked them to win the Big 12, but I would put them at 3 right now behind Kansas and Oklahoma St; Don't have another chance to get an impressive win until Jan. 20 vs. Okla. St.

SW Oklahoma 77
(12) Oklahoma St. 129 - 14-1 going into Big 12 play; Next Wednesday @ Kansas will be one of the biggest early season conference games.

South Florida 50
(18) UConn 69 - Even their record to 1-1 in the Big East, but will have a tough time Saturday @ LSU.
